NEWS -- Week of Oct. 30-Nov. 5, 2000(all items in reverse chronological order)Monday, Oct. 30, 10:15 PM -- The ICE MEN did it! Jim Burke and Ted ('I kayak all winter') Fiust were out in the blowing snow early this morning to finish the powerwashing of the entire playground structure. They had started it last Thursday. Ted did more on Friday, and, well.... they succeeded! The powerwashing is done... onward to sealing! Ah... there's much yet to be done at the old yard. We have mounds of wood chips to spread, and much more carpentry to do. We do need help in the mulch spreading department.... anyone with a Bobcat or similar machine is invited (read that, 'begged' ) to come and help. We've tapped the same few several times, and we've just about worn out our wheelbarrow crews. Please coordinate with Ted. We'll also need carpentry talent to finish some key projects. Please... we'll take help any time we can get it.... AMs during the week, lunch hour, after work, weekends, let us know when you might be available. We WILL be working each weekend until .. well, until we're done or snowed out! Please watch this site for project details. We'll be without our technical leader Ted Fiust for 10 days, and we'll need people to help keep projects moving. Among these are wood sanding and sealing, reassembly of some play items, finishing wood chip distribution, and more.
