History -- Treasures UncoveredEvery construction site yields some history, and ours was no exception. None of our "finds" were of super significance, but curious. We found one nearly intact bottle with the legend "Dr. Cummings's Vegetine". We can only guess what kind of "remedy" that was. The other find was this Polaroid picture of a little girl going down the wide slide. Who knows how long it was buried (less than 14 years). Does anyone recognize her?
We also found a small pile of very intact oyster shells buried deep under the gravel. Someone's hearty snack! -- November 1999
