Freqently Asked QuestionsCan I still get a brick for the walkway?BRICK SALES ARE CLOSED -- The order has gone in! (Even the last chance orders.... ) Installation is planned for June. Where are the bricks? A total of 176 engraved bricks were produced (arriving here mid-May) and will be installed this spring after the new gate and fencing is installed. The bricks themselves are actually "pavers" or a bit bigger than bricks. The inscriptions are sandblasted into the paver, then the letters are filled with an epoxy... both to make it more readible, but also to keep out water which could crack the paver. When the walkway is installed we'll have a rededication ceremony. What about T-shirts New, white-with-green-design short-sleeve T's are in! Adults $12 and kids $10. There are a handful of long-sleeve T-shirts available still! When Is the town going to take over care of the playground? The town Parks & Recreation Dept. cares for the property, but the wood structure playground was an independent community effort and there is no town funding for its maintenance or repair. We're preparing to maintain this structure -- with some town help -- for 5-7 years or more... WHILE WE PLAN FOR REPLACEMENT! This planning has already started, and the idea is for the town to take this on within their budget (get ready to lobby at Town Meeting). We are continuing fundraising to provide money for ongoing work (annual wood sealing, board replacement and small improvements). Are you still raising money? Yes! Although we have exceeded our stated goal, we will continue fundraising so we can create a fund for on-going repair and maintenance. We will not only make repairs, we'll look to make improvements as well. Are you replacing the picnic tables? DONE! Two tables were built by Greg Burke of Maiden Lane for the cost of materials. More may be coming!
